All sessions require a retainer of 20% of their session total to secure their date, and that does go towards the total amount!
I don't like to to time my sessions, because every session is different. I always make sure I spend as much time as I can capturing what we need. Sometimes I go crazy with my ideas and it'll take a little bit longer! Sessions rarely go less than 45 minutes or longer than an hour and a half.

Portrait sessions have a 3-4 week turn around time, and weddings and elopements have a 6-8 week turn around time. Busy times (like the fall) may have slightly longer turn around times because the volume of sessions!
